Emergency Plan 2004
Please be advised that the 2004 Emergency Plan is in place, and in accordance with the provincial Emergency Measures Act. Our plan outlines the major hazards in Beausejour/Brokenhead. For your information our main concerns are: 1) chemical spills; 2) severe weather such as severe winter storms and tornados; 3) fire.
The citizens of Beausejour and Brokenhead should be aware that we have an intensive network of agencies willing to assist an emergency. If our emergency plan is activated, we will have an early warning system in place utilizing television, radio and print media, as well as the police, firefighters and our own staff.
We are putting together a list of residents who have long-term special needs when our emergency plan is activated. Should you or a family member have any special needs, especially in the event of an evacuation, could you please advise the municipal office in writing.
We would also like to have a volunteer base in place for emergency purposes. If you wish to volunteer please advise the municipality in writing and include your name, address, phone number, e-mail and any special assistance you would be able to provide.
We hope the plan never needs to be activated; however, you should rest assured that the Town of Beausejour and the R.M. of Brokenhead has an emergency plan in place, and an exceptional volunteer emergency response team within the fire department serving the town and the municipality.
